MISPA Webinar | 20 June 2020 | The Astrological Sun - The Radiant Self

Human life on earth relies on the sun, the centre of our solar system. This reliance is so strong that in astrology the sun represents life itself, a person's vitality and creative force, the alive self. The Sun as a symbol and an image proliferates the world of art, which isn't surprising considering that Apollo, the god of the sun, presides over the Muses, those behind-the-scenes goddesses who inspire the arts and sciences. The sun reliably returns to the sky every day, yet all days are not sunshine and roses. Sometimes it's difficult for the Sun of our self to shine.

What constitutes the astrological Sun? This webinar explores the Sun mythology of different cultures and their respective symbolism pertaining to this brightest of radiant lights. We will also explore how the other planets in astrology interact when in conjunction with the Sun, as well as essential dignities related to the Sun's position by sign.

Saturn in Aquarius - The Difference Between Us
Sunday 8th March 2020
15.30-18.00 GMT
Presented by Shawn Nygaard

When Saturn leaves Capricorn in March of 2020 and enters Aquarius, it moves into the second sign of its traditional rulership. Where Saturn in Capricorn maintains limits and seeks a disciplined approach to its accomplishments, managing a life in control, Saturn in Aquarius goes further, heading into the outer limits, often deviating from established norms. Saturn in Aquarius takes a breath of fresh air and moves to a different beat. New innovations and potentials present themselves, sometimes as crazy ideas. New and interesting characters, often unfamiliar, step onto the stage where we may not have been looking. Social justice enters the conversation where injustice has prevailed. The focus is on the future while we deal with the difficulties of the present. Saturn in Aquarius asks each of us to participate.

This webinar explores different facets of Saturn in Aquarius, from the nature of the water it carries, to the more complicated tendency of holding onto tradition while heading into the future. Do we bend, or do we break? The answer, as they say, is blowin' in the wind. Includes numerous chart examples and historical events that help to illustrate the gifts and challenges of Saturn in Aquarius.

Upcoming Webinar - Saturn & the Outer Planets - 17 November 2019

Encountering Larger Realities (MISPA)

Saturn & the Outer Planets - Encountering Larger Realities
Sunday, 17 November 2019
15.30-18.00 GMT
Presented by Shawn Nygaard

One of Saturn's essential archetypal roles in our lives (and in our charts) is to set limits. Traditional astrology tells us that Saturn rules over prisons. When imposed on us from the outside world, limits can often feel confining and oppressive - like a prison. Paradoxically, limits can feel liberating - like knowing when enough is enough, saying "no," setting a boundary. Navigating between inner and outer realities via Saturn becomes increasingly challenging (and increasingly important) when Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto engage with Saturn. Limits and boundaries mingle and merge with larger realities like revolution and eternity. New possibilities and potentials emerge. This webinar explores the rather complex relationship between Saturn and the outer planets, individually and collectively.
