All Fired Up! - The Jupiter-Uranus Cycle

In the mythologies of many cultures, fire is kept from humanity before it is eventually stolen and given to humans by an outsider.

This myth is woven into the Jupiter-Uranus cycle and comes alive as Jupiter and Uranus oppose each other for the majority of 2017.

Fire, of course, brings light, vision, and warmth.

This presentation explores Jupiter, Uranus, and what happens when these two visionary planets meet, in natal charts and historical transits.

Welcome to the Jungle ...

TMA 190 cover.jpg

I'm excited that my newest article is in the current, just-published issue of "The Mountain Astrologer"! It's the December/January 2017 issue, which is also the 29th Anniversary Issue.

Entitled, "Welcome to the Jungle, or Back to the Wild Frontier - Reflections on Saturn in Sagittarius," the article is described in the TMA Table of Contents as follows:

"As Saturn moves through the sign of the Centaur, our arts and culture mirror this mythological figure's union of human and animal, with the imperative to claim both sides of ourselves."

If you subscribe digitally, you can access a beautiful, full-color, high-resolution PDF of the article. I'm extremely pleased with how the article turned out. Hope you check it out!

In Greek mythology, Hades is the ruler of the Underworld. When a person died, it was said their soul descended into and would reside in the Underworld. Thus, the Underworld is a realm of soul (psyche) and a realm of depth, well-suited for archetypal exploration. The Romans named the god of the Underworld Pluto, which means “riches.” As ancient coins were minted from precious metals under the ground, Pluto’s riches, gems, and jewels can be mined from the materials found in the depths of the psyche. This webinar is an archetypal and astrological look at the symbolism and imagery of Pluto, with a number of chart examples woven throughout.

Shawn Nygaard is an archetypal astrologer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has worked on an astrology hot-line, hosted the internet radio show “Imagine That!” spoke at the 2015 AA conference, and has been published in The Mountain Astrologer. Shawn is a graduate of the CMED Institute in Chicago, where he studied archetypes with Caroline Myss.
